Arriving at our vacation home for a week on the heels of a terrible rental car disaster, our nerves were instantly soothed by the peaceful surroundings of the villa.
The reality of the villa is even nicer than the internet images, and it was just what we needed at the time. Our stay at the villa could not have been better.
The owners take great care of the place, and were very responsive to the few things we needed.
The interior is as beautiful and well-cared-for as the exterior.
They were very helpful before we arrived as well, recommending a great tour company in Luca Grappa's HillsandRoads.
His associates Andrea and Marija are just wonderful. A car is really useful at this location, although for a slow walker like me the nearest small village is probably no more than 20 - minutes away.
Gaiole and Radda are 15 minutes away by car, as is Siena, if the traffic is light. We also attended a half-day cooking class in Lecchi, run by sisters Paola and Simonetta Simonetta and Paola de' Mari in their 13th century home.
This was one of the many highlights of our trip. Although this may have been once in a lifetime trip, I would love to go back and would absolutely return to Villa Podere Lucignano Secondo Agriturismo.

Oh my goodness...this place is GORGEOUS!!!! My girlfriends and I took a trip to Italy and shared the was unforgettable! A dream come true. Enzo & Liliana were great and met us when we checked in; and at checkout Enzo and his son even gave us a tour of the other villa...LOVELY! When I go back to Italy...which I hope is soon, I will stay at their beautiful villa! They had all that was needed.
Surrounded by vineyards...and the quaint little town of Panella is perfect! I highly recommend this property! Paula Gadson.

The pictures looked wonderful and the reviews seemed great--but this property really exceeded our expectations.
It truly was a "villa" experience.
We loved the historical sense of the house.
Rooms were spacious, clean, and nicely decorated.
The house and kitchen are very well equiped.
The grounds and views from the deck are gorgeous.
We liked being in the countryside--having a car allowed for lots of day trips and we returned after each day's adventures to our quiet "home" with cheeses and wine and wonderful vegetables and meats to barbeque while enjoying the sunsets and views of vineyards. There is a little market in a nearby town and Sienna is really only 15 minutes away with a big supermarket. There were just 4 of us (two couples) on the second floor of the house, and no one downstairs for most of the week we stayed--so it was very private.
The best use of the house would be to rent the whole place for your family and friends.
We did get a chance to see the downstairs too--it was really very nice as well--and the owners have really done a clever job incorporating the animal troughs in the decor!.

The Villa is magnificently located amongst the rolling hills of the Sienese chianti region.
The property is impeccable and offers the most awe-inspiring views of this part of Italy.
Roomy, spotless and well furnished, the villa is bright and peaceful.
Renowned wine estates (Brolio, San Felice, Felsina) are only a few kms.
away...along with lesser known producers of some incredible bordeaux-style Supertuscans.
A wine lover and foodie paradise.
Travel is easy to some of the most popular attractions and cities in the area...Volterra, San Gimi, Florence, etc.
A car is an absolute necessity unless you prefer biking along the well travelled and cyclist friendly local roads.
The property lies within (or in proximity) of a national forest.
Deer, pheasants and other beautiful bird species were seen daily not to mention the elusive and shy wild boar roaming the adjacent hillsides.
The small village of Pianella (3-4 kms.) has a good yet unassuming local restaurant, an ATM, a service-station, a bar and convenience/grocery store.
As for our hosts, Liliana, Enzo and Max, they were simply the best.
Attentive, helpful and genuinely concerned about making our trip memorable.
In fact, they even prepared a typical Tuscan dinner buffet with assorted wines from the region to celebrate our wedding held at the property earlier during the day.
They seemed just as excited about the wedding as our family.!!.

This Villa is located in the Grieve in Chianti region of Tuscanny, just outside of the small Village of Pianella and just 9 miles outside of Siena.
The villa was built in 1898 and has been meticulously restored to period with beautiful stone and wood fixtures throughout.
The Villa is in a remote location, the nearest neighboring villa is on an adjacent hillside.
We had breakfast every morning on the terrace overlooking vineyards and the rolling hills of the verdant landscape.
The accomodations were superior overall and te hosts Enzo & Liliana were extremely gracious & helpful.
I've made at least six trips to Italy over the years, this was the finest of all experiences.
